Hedgeman Draws Fans – Including Oprah – With Her Vision For Region

The resplendent Oprah Winfrey graces the cover of the November 2008 issue of “O, The Oprah Magazine.” But inside, on page 256, an Albany woman smiles modestly, her head cocked to one side, as part of a story with the headline “Women Rule!

The article highlights 80 female leaders all over the country and highlights Hedgeman’s work with The Stakeholders, a sustainable communities initiative to cultivate civic engagement in the New York Capital Region.

Hedgeman’s quote in the article says much about the driving force behind her law firm — and the connection to her home community. As Hedgeman states, “I’m a third-generation Albany resident. It’s always been a place I loved, and I noticed a lot of young people leaving after they graduated from college. Albany’s a great place to live and work — my goal is to get that across.”
